Atsuko Matano on mitmekülgne kunstnik: disainer, illustraator, romaanikirjanik, kes alustas oma karjääri 1979. aastal disainerina kingipoe “Pandora’s Box” jaoks. 6 aastat hiljem, 1985. aastal, asutas ta La Merise’i, kus ta arendas oma oskusi ja alustas ka romaane kirjutamist. 1986. aastal lõi ta Atsuko Matano kaubamärgi, jätkates samal ajal tööd erinevate brändide disainerina.
